This is the script I want to post:
<object width="560" height="420" id="pt-embed-2658703-892-object" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://cdn.pearltrees.com/s/embed/getApp"><param name="flashvars" value="lang=en_US&amp;embedId=pt-embed-2658703-892&amp;treeId=2658703&amp;pearlId=19302180&amp;treeTitle=Building%20Codes&amp;site=www.pearltrees.com%2F" /><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.pearltrees.com/s/embed/getApp" /><param name="wmode" value="opaque" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><strong><a href="http://www.pearltrees.com/pearls/19302180/" title="Building Codes" style="text-decoration:underline;">Building Codes</a></strong></object>
Hi imad,

The best way to embed a flash objects is through the embed UBBCode.  You'll need to make sure this is enabled in your control panel in: Forums -> Master Settings -> Advanced -> Enable Video Embed UBBCode.  You'll also need to make sure that you have UBBCode enabled in your forum's settings: Forums -> Specific Forums -> Forum Details (for the forum you are posting to) -> Posting Settings -> Allow UBBCode.

With those settings enabled, there will be an embed option in the toolbar on the posting form that will enable you to embed the flash object you have included with the [FLASH_VIDEO]  [/FLASH_VIDEO] UBBCode tags.  Just put the code you have referenced inside of those tags.

Note: in setting up your settings this way, all users will be able to embed flash objects.  If you want to post a flash object without allowing other users to do so, you will need to do so with raw HTML (via the Post HTML permission).

I hope that helps!

Brian
Brian-

I did the settings exactly as you suggested.

When I tried inserting the script within the [flash_video} tags, I kept getting gibbirsh- It did not render the flash video within the post!

This is the script I was trying to insert between the {flash_video} tags:

=====
<object width="560" height="420" id="pt-embed-2658703-893-object" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://cdn.pearltrees.com/s/embed/getApp"><param name="flashvars" value="lang=en_US&amp;embedId=pt-embed-2658703-893&amp;treeId=2658703&amp;pearlId=19302180&amp;treeTitle=Building%20Codes&amp;site=www.pearltrees.com%2F" /><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.pearltrees.com/s/embed/getApp" /><param name="wmode" value="opaque" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><strong><a href="http://www.pearltrees.com/pearls/19302180/" title="Building Codes" style="text-decoration:underline;">Building Codes</a></strong></object>

Hi imad,

The issue is that you are not using proper HTML for embedding a flash object.  In order to be cross-browser compatible, you will need to use both an object and an embed tag.  Also, I would recommend not including the extra HTML (<strong><a href="...">...) in the embed, as that will be displayed on the page.

Here's the HTML that I would use that appears to work:

<object width="560" height="420" id="pt-embed-2658703-893-object" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://cdn.pearltrees.com/s/embed/getApp"><param name="flashvars" value="lang=en_US&amp;embedId=pt-embed-2658703-893&amp;treeId=2658703&amp;pearlId=19302180&amp;treeTitle=Building%20Codes&amp;site=www.pearltrees.com%2F" /><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.pearltrees.com/s/embed/getApp" /><param name="wmode" value="opaque" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed src="http://cdn.pearltrees.com/s/embed/getApp" flashvars="lang=en_US&amp;embedId=pt-embed-2658703-893&amp;treeId=2658703&amp;pearlId=19302180&amp;treeTitle=Building%20Codes&amp;site=www.pearltrees.com%2F" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="opaque" allowscriptaccess="always" width="560" height="420"></embed></object>

That should fix it for you
