Having problems accessing new discussion forums on Cafepress

There is a big robot saying  

Danger, Will Robinson!
Something has gone horribly wrong.
 
Nothing I do on any computer stops this from happening.  I am getting replies to posts I am following but cannot answer.

Thanks, Brian, I have tried that but have not cracked it yet. I'm trying to get to the specific cookie(s) because I don't want to do a "clear all" - does anyone know which cookies are linked to the old forums?

Great, glad to hear it Ralley! The only cookies you should have had to worry about are thecafe.cafepress.com. Sometimes browsers get those messed up, and it causes issues on the server. Let us know if you have any further issues!

Are you getting an error message? What are the URLs of page(s) that aren't working? The more specifics you can provide about the problem, the better.

You're getting the same error in both Firefox and Chrome?

What operating system are you using? Have you tried rebooting your computer (which should address any potential DNS caching issues). If you are at home, you might also try rebooting your router to see if that makes a difference. I know that's a lot of stuff, but it's necessary to try these things until we are able to identify the source of the issue.

What are the page URLs that you are getting errors with?

This is not a browser or operating system problem.  I have 3 computers and its happening on all of them.  And I agree this is ridiculous we have explained the problem many times now.  What is the point of posting here to keep getting or not even getting a response or the same thing?

We are trying to help solve the issue, but many technical issues are very complex in nature and it's not as simple as "just fixing it" The point of posting here on our support forums is to get help. We are trying to help you, but we can't help those who won't accept our help, of course.

 

If anyone having the issue would like to post the URL(s) that are having issues, that would be a great place to start. Are you using http://forums.cafepress.com or http://thecafe.cafepress.com?

cannot post the URl as i cannot get there. however was able to post this afternoon now again getting your giant robot and this is the Url that is attached to it.   http://thecafe.cafepress.com/t...91#50554784198746991

 

It is not random can post then it goes into the robot page as mentioned above the same gail also posted about.

 

Since more than one person is having this issue I would think it is not a browser problem as it is happening on Chrome, firefox and explorer with me and others.

I understand that you're frustrated, and the issue may seem like it should be "easy" to fix. Unfortunately, that is not the case. We've seen this particular issue in the past following very few migrations from Eve to Hoop.la. In all cases that we've heard of to date, clearing cache and cookies in the browser has solved the problem. It sounds like that isn't the case for you, which means that it's a new, separate issue than we've seen previously.

 

I realize that multiple people are having issues, but please be aware that the vast majority of users on The Cafe community are not having this issue. It does appear to be a very rare; to be specific, only about 1% of requests are having this issue. Hopefully that helps put this in perspective a little bit.

 

In any event, please rest assured that this is an issue that we are actively working on. We will post any updates here as we have them.

Like I said it is sporadic so its frustrating as clearing my cache, and history messes up my google tabs and i lose them all.  I depend on these to work efficently.   

 

i have a bunch of replies to my posts i cannot address so it is just going to have to stay that way cannot go back to the forums as its just a headache at this time.  Good luck and thank you.

I'm very sorry this issue is still impacting you so much. We are still working on identifying the root of the problem. It's quite tricky due to the irregularity of the problem and the limited number of users affected.

 

I completely understand your frustration and wish I had a better answer or solution for you right now.

 

Have you tried using the community from any other computers or devices (smartphone, etc.)? I assume the issue is still affecting you across all of your browsers?

 

Please hang in there with us; we aren't going to stop working on the issue until it is solved and behind us.
